The Junior Chefs celebrate their new found skills by using them to create a healthy party for themselves, their parents and guests. The Junior Chefs prepared fresh hummus, lettuce chicken wraps, dark chocolate fondue with fresh fruit, kale and fruit smoothies, grilled vegetable skewers and other delectable treats. To conclude the evening the Junior Chefs were given a pass for themselves and their parents to a local New York City Parks and Recreation facility, by Liam Kavanagh, so that they can continue healthy living with their family. Special thanks to the Jewishly Informed Giving Foundation, Alex Holt, Liam Kavanagh, Gina Puzzanghera, and the many volunteers that helped to make this program such a success. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Nourishing Kitchen of New York City is a not-for-profit Community Food Center that is reaching the community of East Harlem and beyond through free (and healthy) hot meal programs, basic nutrition classes, and Junior/Teen/Senior Chef programs.
